This is one of the Steve Keene paintings that my good friend James Watral purchased via the internet a few years ago. This Keene painting is dated 2003.
This pic shows the Keene painting hanging in Watral's studio kitchen as Watral discusses clay with fellow ceramic artist Ted Adler. They were discussing each of their separate experiences of studying under Toshiko Takaezu as we lifted our glasses and toasted her memory. Takaezu had just passed away a month before this picture was taken.
